They say that after every storm comes a rainbow. Baby Charlotte came into mom Nichole’s life as a rainbow baby and brought along with her every color and hue known to the universe. After 3 losses, Nichole wanted to celebrate the arrival of her little princess. And celebrate she certainly did. By creating a delightful nursery in shades of grey, pink and cream and giving it a rainbow touch.
Nothing quite says princess like the Evolur Aurora Collection. Nichole and her husband picked the Aurora Collection in Akoya Grey (Pearl) and paired it up with pink walls and cream decor accents to create a nursery that is truly fit for a princess!
“We loved the look of the Evolur Aurora. It is absolutely beautiful! I saw the pieces in a magazine and we knew right away we were going to purchase this set for our baby. The ease of putting it together, the quality of the brand and how beautiful it was all caught our attention,” says Nichole.
Due to space constraints, Nichole kept the layout and decor of the room simple. Nichole placed the Aurora 5-in-1 Convertible Crib and the Aurora Double Dresser on the full walls, opposite each other. The rocking chair/glider, placed near the window, makes for a cozy yet well-lit corner for Nichole to snuggle up with Charlotte. A rainbow-colored throw on the rocker/glider serves as a poignant reminder of just how precious life is. An elegant cream-colored mirror over the double dresser, a hanging shelf to keep all of baby Charlotte’s hair accessories organized and other pretty little accents add a sweet charm to the nursery.
Over the years we have noticed that most moms usually have one piece from their baby’s nursery that holds a special place in their hearts. It could be something sentimental or something that inspired them to create the nursery of their dreams. For mom Nichole, it was the Aurora Crib!
“My favorite part is, by far, the (Aurora) crib with our daughter’s name above it. The crib is so beautiful! We love the fact that the crib will convert into so many beds for our baby and that she will basically have this bed forever,” says Nichole.
“There is a rainbow of hope at the end of every storm”
Mom Nichole Kotarski’s story of hope and joy is a testament to the fact that out of a storm can come something so positive and beautiful that it can change your life forever.
Here’s wishing Baby Charlotte a life filled with love, laughter, and color!

A Q&A session with mom and Chief Creative Officer, Nichole Kotarski
What was your inspiration for the nursery design and décor?
We went back and forth on a theme. We wanted to make our nursery fit for our princess and incorporate in the rainbow theme due to this being our rainbow baby.
What drew you to évolur over other nursery brands?
We loved the look of the évolur aurora. It is absolutely beautiful! I saw the pieces in a magazine and we knew right away we were going to purchase this set for our baby. The ease of putting it together, the quality of the brand and how beautiful it was all caught our attention.
Did the room pose any design challenges?
Our nursery is very small. So it was hard to fit everything we would’ve liked into it.
Did you and your spouse agree on style, or did you blend styles and how?
We went back and forth on if we wanted to go with the grey pearl or the ivory furniture. We knew we were going to get the Aurora collection. We went with the grey because it was different and looked beautiful with our wall color.
What does this color scheme mean to you?
We love the grey, pink and ivory color schedule of the room we have. The grey furniture tied right into the look we were going for.
What accessories did you choose and why?
We knew we wanted a bookshelf and a rocking chair. We added in a mirror and other little pieces from our gift registry to make it complete. We also ordered curtains and had a crib skirt made to match.
What is your favorite piece or design element in the nursery?
My favorite part is by far the crib with our daughter’s name above it. The crib is so beautiful!
Have you thought of how you will use the nursery pieces down the road and can you tell us?
We love the fact that the crib will convert into so many beds for our baby and that she will basically have this bed forever!!
