Done up in shades of peach, gold and white, mom Andrea Picone’s nursery for her baby girl Giovanna, blends old time romance with modern elements seamlessly. The nursery features Evolur’s Waverly Nursery Collection in Weathered White and includes the Waverly 5-in-1 Convertible Crib, Tall Chest and Double Dresser. With its modern lines and rustic feel, the Waverly fits the theme perfectly.

The Waverly 5-in-1 Convertible Crib is placed against the peach-colored wall with a stylized name sign hanging above the crib. The Waverly Double Dresser occupies the wall adjacent to the crib. An old-style globe with the words ‘Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all’ – a flea market find and mom Andrea’s favorite decor accessory – sits on the dresser.  A modern mirror with golden edging hangs over the dresser in keeping with the simple and clean aesthetic of the nursery. A glider in sophisticated gray finds a spot in between the two windows of the room that let in light and lend the nursery an airy feel.

The Waverly Tall Chest is placed on the wall opposite the crib leaving enough space in the center for little Giovanna to enjoy tummy time and for soon-to-embark-on crawling adventures. The rattan baskets of the Waverly tall chest, along with the other storage baskets placed around the room add texture to the space while helping keep little Giovanna’s essentials organized.

We love the addition of gold elements in the nursery – the gold plated central light piece, wall art with golden colored frames, and a golden night stand all add a subtle glam factor to the nursery. Not to be missed is the cute ‘library on wheels’ that houses all of baby Giovanna’s books.

Andrea, we wish you and your beautiful family a lifetime of memories. We can’t wait to see little Giovanna grow up in this gorgeous nursery.

If you are looking for an alternative to a traditional pink baby girl nursery, we recommend you read mom Andrea’s Q & A on how she went about creating this inviting peach and white nursery –

What was your inspiration for the nursery design and décor?

My goal for the space was to create a modern nursery with a touch of elegance that would grow with Giovanna !

What drew you to évolur over other nursery brands?

We loved that the pieces were on trend, well made and had a variety of design styles to choose from. The hardest part was choosing a collection.

Did the room pose any design challenges?

This room used to be our 13 year old Son’s room so we had to totally re envision the space.  There is an oblong circular window in the room that is very challenging to find a vendor to install a shutter! Still working on that piece.

Did you and your spouse agree on style, or did you blend styles and how?

We both agreed on the style, I had a vision in my mind that I couldn’t really explain and a bunch of elements I wanted to incorporate. There was a rug that we bought and returned because my husband hated it. I’m a perfectionist so I bought 3 more rugs, and still haven’t selected one.  Lol

What does this color scheme mean to you?

I knew right away that I wanted a calming environment with a vintage peach tone, something airy and current but not your grandmother’s peach. Our painter showed me the swatch and I loved it. The accent walls are Sherwin Williams Aristocrat Peach.

What accessories did you choose and why?

We went to a flea market for a few things. I got the scripted letters on Etsy and then when I couldn’t find the artwork I envisioned I made all of the prints in the gold frames. I wanted a bible verse in the room but I wanted it to look modern so I made it myself.

What is your favorite piece or design element in the nursery?

The globe was purchased from a vendor at our local flea market . It says “life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all” I love this piece because I want her to live life to the fullest and never be afraid to follow her dreams.

Have you thought of how you will use the nursery pieces down the road and can you tell us?

Eventually we will transition this room to a more grown up little girl space and she will have it littered with jewelry and makeup. We see it growing with her !

What one word comes to mind when you step into the nursery?

Tranquility

Is this your first baby? Name?

We have 5 kids in our blended family! Ages ranging from 10-16. But she is our first baby together and it’s been a long time since we had a baby so it sort of feels like the first one again lol.  We call her the grand finale or the hybrid baby. Her name is Giovanna because it means “gift from God” in Italian . We had a miscarriage the year before Giovanna came bursting in our lives with joy. She is our true gift .
