Simple. Chic. Contemporary. Celebrity mom Christine Lakin’s modern animal themed nursery for her baby boy Baylor is so on-trend. Featuring the Maddox Modern Nursery Collection from the évolur Loft collection, the nursery imparts a relaxed and sweet feel. The nursery is decorated with animal and geometric motifs, giving this bright and airy boy nursery a playful yet modern vibe.
I just loved the simple lines of it mixed with the wood. It’s modern but is still soft and earthy looking,” says Christine about the Maddox Nursery Collection.
We couldn’t have said it better. The Maddox, with its clean lines and wood elements, combines modern and traditional design aesthetics to give a nursery collection that is gender-neutral and timeless. And the best part, the Maddox 3-in-1 Convertible Crib converts into a stylish toddler bed.
Christine kept the layout of nursery simple to facilitate easy movement. She placed the Maddox Modern Crib on the full wall, the double dresser on the opposite wall and the Maddox 3-drawer chest in between. The rocker/glider is placed in a cozy spot in between the dressers giving the entire nursery an uncluttered and spacious feel.
Sweet and personal nursery accents are displayed in an open shelf unit that is tucked away in a spot between the crib and 3-drawer chest. A colorful crayon sculpture that spells baby boy Baylor’s name finds a spot here. As does a picture of their adorable and sweet pregnancy announcement.
In keeping with the hottest nursery trends of 2019, the windows are fitted with blinds that feature geometric prints. And how could we not point out to the animal-themed rug that provides a burst of fun and color to the room? The nursery combines clean, modern elements with fun, colorful accents to create a space that promises to be a beautiful and happy place to grow in!
In spite of having her hands full juggling 2 little ones, home, and work, Christine made some time to talk to us about how she went about selecting a theme for Baylor’s nursery and why she chose Evolur. Read on for some celeb nursery inspiration!
What was your inspiration for the nursery design and décor?
I wanted to do something simple and modern for Baylor that could grow with him but also add in an element of color and playful images, which is how I decided on the animal theme. Originally I picked shades of blue, grey and accents of yellow, so naturally, I thought of giraffes but ended up with all kinds of animals so I suppose it’s a zoo theme now! Which is great because his already growing collection of stuffed animals will fit right in. I added yellow hued baskets to his bookshelf and some photos of our announcement and one of he and his sister, that I plan to keep updating.
What does this color scheme mean to you?
It’s boyish but the pattern in the roman shades also feels sort of mature and I love that many blue and grey tones are represented, which I think adds some depth and softness. The pop of yellow in the accessories keeps it fun and it’s just very different from my daughter’s mostly pink room, which constantly reminds me how different having a boy is all together.
What one word comes to mind when you step into the nursery?
Why did you pick Evolur? What appealed to you most about the Evolur Maddox Collection?
I am a long time fan of Evolur, having discovered them when looking for my daughter’s crib and furniture, which she still uses. This collection, in particular, was a bit of a departure from the traditional looks and I just loved the simple lines of it mixed with the wood. It brings out the new white oak floors we have in our home and its modern but is still soft and earthy looking. The multiple dressers are great for storing more than just clothes as our smaller one is full of blankets, bibs, socks, diapers, etc. The quality and look of Evolur is what drew my attention initially, and the value of their sets is what keeps me coming back.
