“My baby’s name is Céline which was inspired by a marvelous French vacation my husband and I took on which our princess was conceived.” – Mom Amber-Joi Watkins

When a “marvelous French vacation” results in a little princess being created, is it any surprise that the nursery would be anything short of spectacular. Romantic and utterly gorgeous, this baby girl nursery, designed by mom Amber-Joi Watkins and featuring the Evolur Aurora Nursery Collection, is what dream nurseries are made of.

The Aurora Nursery Collection, with its whimsical details, has always been a favorite amongst moms who want to create magical nurseries for their little princesses. And every time, the Aurora inspires a mom to create an extraordinary nursery for her little girl, our heart swells with pride. Mom Amber fell for the Aurora Nursery Collection and boy, did she fall hard. She got not only the Aurora 5-in-1 Convertible Crib but also the Aurora Double Dresser, Hutch/Bookcase, Tall Chest, and Side Table! In our popular Metallic Gold Dust Finish!

“As a first-time mom, when I began my registry I had no clue where to start. But naturally, I figured I should start with the crib as it’s one of the most important spaces for the baby. I immediately fell in love with the Evolur Aurora Gold Dust crib and pretty much built my decor around the crib and its beautiful color and design. I was inspired by the way Evolur presented the crib so majestically on their own website,” confessed Amber in our Q & A with her.

Needless to say, this feedback from Amber-Joi thrilled us to bits!

Amber also appreciates the long-term value that Evolur nurseries provide.

“I was drawn to Evolur because of the beautiful design, quality, and versatility of Evolur. I love that my Evolur Aurora furniture will stick with my baby as she grows from infant to toddler and beyond. It’s classic and I’m hoping my daughter will like it just as I do when she reaches an age where she can form an opinion,” opines Amber

Amber chose a gold color scheme for Baby Celine’s nursery with hints of light pink and cream sprinkled around. For Amber, the color scheme reflects femininity and elegance while still infusing the nursery with a sense of playfulness.

The Evolur Aurora 5-in-1 Convertible Crib is placed against a backdrop of an absolutely gorgeous Monique Lhuillier wall mural, very aptly named “Ethereal”. A plush pink ‘Twinkle, twinkle little star’ carpet, which also happens to be one of Amber’s favorite pieces from the nursery, adds a bit of whimsy to this royalty-inspired nursery. A gorgeous chandelier lamp sits atop the Evolur Aurora Tall Chest while the Aurora Hutch/Bookcase is filled with baby books, adorable soft toys, and other pretty decor accents. An ivory-colored rocking chair, a gold Piper Metal changing table with a simple, round mirror framed above the table complete the look.

We asked Amber for one word that best describes the nursery. She said ‘Royalty’. We couldn’t agree more. This beautiful nursery is all-out royal. With a generous dose of French romance thrown in, for added effect!

Featured here is a short Q&A with mom Amber-Joi on her design inspiration for Baby Celine’s princess nursery –

What is your favorite piece or design element in the nursery?
The crib is, by far, my favorite piece. It just says it all. My second favorite element is the twinkle twinkle little star rug which adds playfulness into an otherwise sophisticated design.

What does this color scheme mean to you?
The color scheme for me is feminine and elegant but still soft and playful enough for my little princess.

Did the room pose any design challenges?
I’m very indecisive so aside from the crib which I absolutely knew I wanted it was difficult to select the complimentary decor. But it was good practice for motherhood where I’ll constantly be faced with choices. In the end, I used metallics like silver and gold and complimented them with soft blush pink and ivory colors and pieces.

Did you and your spouse agree on style, or did you blend styles and how?
For the first time in our seven year relationship, my husband gave me 100% full design control. I consulted my husband, family, and friends when I needed help; but overall this was a really fun project that I took on all by myself.

What accessories did you choose and why?
I really wanted a hanging chandelier like the photo on the Evolur website but it was impractical for our electrical design so I “settled” for a beautiful chandelier lamp that I found on Wayfair. I have the Thatcher rocking chair in ivory from Pottery Barn Kids as well as the Ivory and gold Anywhere chair that not only complement each other but also the Evolur pieces. And I have a gold Piper Metal changing table. We also have a Monique Lhuillier Ethereal Wall Mural.

Have you thought of how you will use the nursery pieces down the road and can you tell us?
I hope this furniture will last for years to come, it’s classic and I’m hoping my daughter will like it just as I do when she reaches an age where she can form an opinion.
