As we continue on our follow-up journeys, we take a more in-depth look at DeAnna Stagliano’s baby boy’s rustic chic nursery. The Bachelorette star took some time out last week to walk us through her baby boy’s stunning nursery. Here’s an interview with the lady herself telling us about her inspiration and the end-goals.

What was your inspiration for the nursery design and décor?
We wanted Austin’s room to feel masculine, but still soft, for a baby boy. We wanted to go with a rustic theme, so that is why we chose to do a wood wall behind Austin’s crib. Since the wall was such a big focus in the room, we wanted everything else to flow smoothly with little touches and design elements.

What drew you to évolur over other nursery brands?
I loved the evolur furniture from the second I saw it. I loved that there were a variety of pieces in different finishes to choose from. I knew I wanted the furniture to be classic in color and look and I was thrilled that evolur offered so many options to fit my taste! One of my favorite things….the drawers are “soft close,” which means no slamming shut! I totally sneak in and place Austin’s laundry away while he’s sleeping at night!!

Did the room pose any design challenges?
Austin’s room is a good size for a nursery but there is a closet with sliding doors on one side of the room. It takes up pretty much the entire right side of his room, which meant we couldn’t place any furniture on that side of his room. We had to get creative with positioning all the pieces in Austin’s room as well as fit a nursery chair in there somewhere.

Did you and your spouse agree on style, or did you blend styles and how?
Out of every room in our house, Stephen and I love both of our children’s rooms. We agree on everything together down to the paint and furniture. Stephen even helped me make a final decision on curtains for both of our kids rooms!!

What is your favorite piece or design element in the nursery?
My favorite piece in Austin’s room is his dresser. If fit perfectly under the windows in his room. I am a woman that loves to organize and there is so much space in that dresser! With four large drawers on the bottom and three smaller drawers all along the top, I had so much fun organizing blankets, diapers, socks, and sleep sacks!! As far as the design element, the accent wood wall is my favorite! I still go in there every day and just stare at it! It’s so beautiful and Stephen did such a great job!

Are there any sentimental pieces you incorporated into the room?
My sister and brother in law are so creative and artistic! My sister in law, Jenna, made Austin’s mobile, which I simply adore! It adds texture and different prints to his room. My brother in law, Jake, is so crafty!! He helped Stephen create the wood wall! Jake also does tattoo art. He drew the tattoo art in Austin’s room. Jake also made one for Addison’s room before she was born. I hope our children cherish these items forever and know just how much their aunts and uncles adore them!

What one word comes to mind when you step into the nursery
LOVE. Not just because I love the nursery and everything in it, but because I love my son. We spend so much time in there together playing or breastfeeding. It is such a calm and beautiful space filled with complete love.
