Warm, peaceful and happy… this is how we’d describe this nursery that was put together for baby Chloe by her proud parents – Alejandra and David Cárdenas’.
We really love the play of colors in this room. The pale yellow, almost ivory and the warm grey of the walls flow seamlessly with the delicate pinks and whites of the furniture and accessories.
While we are used to seeing the crib as a centerpiece in most nurseries, Chloe’s nursery is a little out-of-the-norm in that it does not revolve around a single piece. The entire collection of nursery furniture – évolur’s Aurora Collection – Crib, Double Dresser, Armoire and Nightstand; the glider and ottomans – come together beautifully to form a completely harmonious whole.
Chloe’s name over the crib (made by her uncle – more on that in the next post) adds the personal touch that binds everything in the room together. This is definitely Chloe’s very own, very special nursery!
The ivory faux sheepskin shag rug and the quilted blanket that features Chloe’s name – hand-embroidered by Alejandra herself (visit her Etsy shop) adds the perfect amount of texture to the room without breaking its harmony.
A glider sits quietly and unobtrusively by the tall windows and is discreetly sheltered by the convenient nightstand on one side and the armoire on the other – a perfect spot – we think – for mom and baby to cuddle and nap together for a bit.
No nursery is complete without the set of perfect accessories. Chloe’s nursery includes a wall collage consisting of a set of little stands, a gold circle shelf, decorative arrows and stuffed toys that make for a cool and fun focal point.
A unicorn head adds a touch of relief over the double-dresser-changing station. A cute, pink stuffed elephant is parked on the armoire and finally a heart-shaped ottoman with gold trim to add just a mild crackle of color.
And what more can we say? It’s all just perfect!
Functional and fashionable, this nursery is one that the Cárdenas are sure enjoy for years to come. Cosy, without being cluttered, an elegant, sweet, warm and inviting nursery this definitely is.
