As is custom, here is a short Q&A with Renée Herlocker. And psst! There is video reveal in the wings. So don’t forget to check back!
What was your inspiration for the nursery design and décor?
The inso for Bowynn’s room was to have a space that was soft, dreamy , and calm yet playful at the same time. She was going to be out of the infant phase once we moved back into he house so the elements needed to be able to grow and change with her as she entered toddlerville.
Camden picked his theme because the is super into outer space, but that again needed to grow and change with him and we didn’t want it to be very babylike.
What drew you to évolur over other nursery brands?
The fact the the cribs covert so easily all the way into a full sized bed. The quality is remarkable, and the price point is something every family can appreciate.
Did the room pose any design challenges?
Bowynn’s room is very large and we needed to fill the space with solid pieces, but didn’t want it to seem like we were just adding furniture just to add it. The dresser and crib are perfect.
Camden’s room has a wall space that I wasn’t really sure to do with, and the hutch/bookeshelf fit perfect!!!
Did you and your spouse agree on style, or did you blend styles and how?
I knew Camden’s room would have a cleaner more masculine edge and the Santa Fe is just wonderful at resembling that feel, and I knew I wanted Bowynn’s set to be rounded, softer, and I can’t tell you how much I love the Dove Grey color! My husband new to let me take the reigns on this one 🙂
What is your favorite piece or design element in the nursery?
Honestly, my favorite piece in Bowynn’s room is her crib! It fits perfectly on the wall space, and is just illuminated as a focal point by her amazing ceiling light that just exudes magic and wonder.
I love Camden’s Planetarium canopy where he goes and plays, ready, hides, and actually relaxes!
Are there any sentimental pieces you incorporated into the room?
Bowynn’s room has a vintage acrylic bar cart that belonged to my grandma and is the only piece of hers that I have. It not only reminded me of her, but it really goes perfectly as a side table. Acrylic is so in again!
What one word comes to mind when you step into the nursery?
Dreamy for Bowynn, and Blastoff for Camden!
